Kimai is an open-source time tracking application. In versions 1.16.3 through 2.52.0, the escapeForHtml() function in KimaiEscape.js does not escape double quote or single quote characters. When a user's profile alias is inserted into an HTML attribute context via the team member form prototype and rendered through innerHTML, this incomplete escaping allows HTML attribute injection. An authenticated user with ROLE_USER privileges can store a malicious alias that executes JavaScript in the browser of any administrator viewing the team form, resulting in stored XSS with privilege escalation. This issue has been fixed in version 2.53.0.

kimai

wger is a free, open-source workout and fitness manager. In versions 2.5 and below, the attribution_link property in AbstractLicenseModel constructs HTML by directly interpolating user-controlled license fields (such as license_author) without escaping, and templates render the result using Django's |safe filter. An authenticated user can create an ingredient with a malicious license_author value containing JavaScript, which executes in the browser of any visitor viewing the ingredient page, resulting in stored XSS. This issue has been fixed in version 2.5.

wger

DOMSanitizer is a DOM/SVG/MathML Sanitizer for PHP 7.3+. Prior to version 1.0.10, DOMSanitizer::sanitize() allows <style> elements in SVG content but never inspects their text content. CSS url() references and @import rules pass through unfiltered, causing the browser to issue HTTP requests to attacker-controlled hosts when the sanitized SVG is rendered. Version 1.0.10 fixes the issue.

next-intl provides internationalization for Next.js. Applications using the `next-intl` middleware prior to version 4.9.1with `localePrefix: 'as-needed'` could construct URLs where path handling and the WHATWG URL parser resolved a relative redirect target to another host (e.g. scheme-relative `//` or control characters stripped by the URL parser), so the middleware could redirect the browser off-site while the user still started from a trusted app URL. The problem has been patchedin `next-intl@4.9.1`.

Stirling-PDF is a locally hosted web application that facilitates various operations on PDF files. In versions prior to 2.0.0, file upload endpoints render user-supplied filenames directly into HTML using unsafe methods like innerHTML without sanitization. An attacker can craft a file with a malicious filename containing JavaScript that executes in the uploading user's browser context, resulting in reflected XSS. The issue affects numerous upload endpoints across the application. The issue has been fixed in version 2.0.0.

Note Mark is an open-source note-taking application. In versions 0.19.1 and prior, the asset delivery handler serves uploaded files inline and relies on magic-byte detection for content type, which does not identify text-based formats such as HTML, SVG, or XHTML. These files are served with an empty Content-Type, no X-Content-Type-Options: nosniff header, and inline disposition, allowing browsers to sniff and render active content. An authenticated user can upload an HTML or SVG file containing JavaScript as a note asset, and when a victim navigates to the asset URL, the script executes under the application's origin with access to the victim's authenticated session and API actions. This issue has been fixed in version 0.19.2.

The authentication endpoint fails to encode user-supplied input before rendering it in the web page, allowing for script injection. An attacker can leverage this by injecting malicious scripts into the authentication endpoint. This can result in the user's browser being redirected to a malicious website, manipulation of the web page's user interface, or the retrieval of information from the browser. However, session hijacking is not possible due to the httpOnly flag protecting session-related cookies.

The WSO2 API Manager developer portal accepts user-supplied input without enforcing expected validation constraints or proper output encoding. This deficiency allows a malicious actor to inject script content that is executed within the context of a user's browser. By leveraging this cross-site scripting vulnerability, a malicious actor can cause the browser to redirect to a malicious website, make changes to the UI of the web page, or retrieve information from the browser. However, session hijacking is not possible as all session-related sensitive cookies are protected by the httpOnly flag.

This allows an attacker to inject malicious script payloads into the input parameters, which are then executed by the victim's browser. Successful exploitation can enable an attacker to redirect the user's browser to a malicious website, modify the UI of the web page, or retrieve information from the browser. However, the impact is limited as session-related sensitive cookies are protected by the httpOnly flag, preventing session hijacking.

Prometheus is an open-source monitoring system and time series database. Versions 3.0 through 3.5.1 and 3.6.0 through 3.11.1 have stored cross-site scripting vulnerabilities in multiple components of the Prometheus web UI where metric names and label values are injected into innerHTML without escaping. In both the Mantine UI and old React UI, chart tooltips on the Graph page render metric names containing HTML/JavaScript without sanitization. In the old React UI, the Metric Explorer fuzzy search results use dangerouslySetInnerHTML without escaping, and heatmap cell tooltips interpolate le label values without sanitization. With Prometheus v3.x defaulting to UTF-8 metric and label name validation, characters like <, >, and " are now valid in metric names and labels. An attacker who can inject metrics via a compromised scrape target, remote write, or OTLP receiver endpoint can execute arbitrary JavaScript in the browser of any Prometheus user who views the metric in the Graph UI, potentially enabling configuration exfiltration, data deletion, or Prometheus shutdown depending on enabled flags. This issue has been fixed in versions 3.5.2 and 3.11.2. If developers are unable to immediately update, the following workarounds are recommended: ensure that the remote write receiver (--web.enable-remote-write-receiver) and the OTLP receiver (--web.enable-otlp-receiver) are not exposed to untrusted sources; verify that all scrape targets are trusted and not under attacker control; avoid enabling admin or mutating API endpoints (e.g., --web.enable-admin-api or --web.enable-lifecycle) in environments where untrusted data may be ingested; and refrain from clicking untrusted links, particularly those containing functions such as label_replace, as they may generate poisoned label names and values.

ApostropheCMS is an open-source Node.js content management system. Versions 4.28.0 and prior contain a stored cross-site scripting vulnerability in SEO-related fields (SEO Title and Meta Description), where user-controlled input is rendered without proper output encoding into HTML contexts including <title> tags, <meta> attributes, and JSON-LD structured data. An attacker can inject a payload such as "></title><script>alert(1)</script> to break out of the intended HTML context and execute arbitrary JavaScript in the browser of any authenticated user who views the affected page. This can be leveraged to perform authenticated API requests, access sensitive data such as usernames, email addresses, and roles via internal APIs, and exfiltrate it to an attacker-controlled server. This issue has been fixed in version 4.29.0.

apostrophecms

ApostropheCMS is an open-source Node.js content management system. Versions 4.28.0 and prior contain a stored cross-site scripting vulnerability in the @apostrophecms/color-field module, where color values prefixed with -- bypass TinyColor validation intended for CSS custom properties, and the launder.string() call performs only type coercion without stripping HTML metacharacters. These unsanitized values are then concatenated directly into <style> tags both in per-widget style elements rendered for all visitors and in the global stylesheet rendered for editors, with the output marked as safe HTML. An editor can inject a value which closes the style tag and executes arbitrary JavaScript in the browser of every visitor to any page containing the affected widget. This enables mass session hijacking, cookie theft, and privilege escalation to administrative control if an admin views draft content. This issue has been fixed in version 4.29.0.

apostrophecms

A vulnerability in the Desktop Agent functionality of Cisco Webex Contact Center could have allowed an unauthenticated, remote attacker to conduct cross-site scripting attacks. Cisco has addressed this vulnerability in the Cisco Webex Contact Center service, and no customer action is needed. This vulnerability existed because HTML and script content was not properly handled. Prior to this vulnerability being addressed, an attacker could have exploited this vulnerability by persuading a user to follow a malicious link. A successful exploit could have allowed the attacker to steal sensitive information from the browser, including authentication and session information.

Multiple vulnerabilities in the web-based management interface of Cisco Identity Services Engine (ISE) could allow an authenticated, remote attacker with administrative&nbsp;write privileges to conduct a stored cross-site scripting (XSS) attack or a reflected XSS attack against a user of the web-based management interface of an affected device. These vulnerabilities are due to insufficient sanitization of user-supplied data that is stored in the web page. An attacker could exploit these vulnerabilities by convincing a user of the interface to click a specific link or view an affected web page. The injected script code may be executed in the context of the web-based management interface or allow the attacker to access sensitive browser-based information.

A vulnerability in the web-based management interface of Cisco Unity Connection could allow an unauthenticated, remote attacker to conduct a reflected XSS attack against a user of the interface. This vulnerability exists because the web-based management interface does not properly validate user-supplied input. An attacker could exploit this vulnerability by persuading a user to click a crafted link. A successful exploit could allow the attacker to execute arbitrary script code in the context of the affected interface or access sensitive, browser-based information.

A Stored Cross-Site Scripting vulnerability was discovered in the Assets and Nodes functionality due to improper validation of an input parameter. An authenticated user with custom fields privileges can define a malicious custom field containing a JavaScript payload. When the victim views the Assets or Nodes pages, the XSS executes in their browser context, allowing the attacker to perform unauthorized actions as the victim, such as modify application data, disrupt application availability, and access limited sensitive information.

Stored cross-site scripting vulnerability exists in GROWI v7.4.6 and earlier. If this vulnerability is exploited, an arbitrary script may be executed in a user's web browser.

XWiki Platform is a generic wiki platform offering runtime services for applications built on top of it. Versions 10.4-rc-1, through 16.10.15, 17.0.0-rc-1, through 17.4.7 and 17.5.0-rc-1 through 17.10.0 contain a reflected cross-site scripting vulnerability (XSS) in the comparison view between revisions of a page allows executing JavaScript code in the user's browser. If the current user is an admin, this can not only affect the current user but also the confidentiality, integrity and availability of the whole XWiki instance. If developers are unable to update immediately, they can apply the patch manually to templates/changesdoc.vm in the deployed WAR.

xwiki

immich is a high performance self-hosted photo and video management solution. Versions prior to 2.7.3 contain an open redirect vulnerability in the shared album functionality, where the album name is inserted unsanitized into a <meta> tag in api.service.ts. A registered attacker can create a shared album with a crafted name containing 0;url=https://attackersite.com" http-equiv="refresh, which when rendered in the <meta property="og:title"> tag causes the victim's browser to redirect to an attacker-controlled site upon opening the share link. This facilitates phishing attacks, as the attacker could host a modified version of immich that collects login credentials from victims who believe they need to authenticate to view the shared album. This issue has been fixed in version 2.7.3.
