In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: smc: Fix various oops due to inet_sock type confusion. syzbot reported weird splats [0][1] in cipso_v4_sock_setattr() while freeing inet_sk(sk)->inet_opt. The address was freed multiple times even though it was read-only memory. cipso_v4_sock_setattr() did nothing wrong, and the root cause was type confusion. The cited commit made it possible to create smc_sock as an INET socket. The issue is that struct smc_sock does not have struct inet_sock as the first member but hijacks AF_INET and AF_INET6 sk_family, which confuses various places. In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: ACPICA: Refuse to evaluate a method if arguments are missing As reported in [1], a platform firmware update that increased the number of method parameters and forgot to update a least one of its callers, caused ACPICA to crash due to use-after-free. Since this a result of a clear AML issue that arguably cannot be fixed up by the interpreter (it cannot produce missing data out of thin air), address it by making ACPICA refuse to evaluate a method if the caller attempts to pass fewer arguments than expected to it.

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: KVM: x86/hyper-v: Skip non-canonical addresses during PV TLB flush In KVM guests with Hyper-V hypercalls enabled, the hypercalls HVCALL_FLUSH_VIRTUAL_ADDRESS_LIST and HVCALL_FLUSH_VIRTUAL_ADDRESS_LIST_EX allow a guest to request invalidation of portions of a virtual TLB. For this, the hypercall parameter includes a list of GVAs that are supposed to be invalidated. However, when non-canonical GVAs are passed, there is currently no filtering in place and they are eventually passed to checked invocations of INVVPID on Intel / INVLPGA on AMD. In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: RDMA/mlx5: Fix error flow upon firmware failure for RQ destruction Upon RQ destruction if the firmware command fails which is the last resource to be destroyed some SW resources were already cleaned regardless of the failure. Now properly rollback the object to its original state upon such failure. In order to avoid a use-after free in case someone tries to destroy the object again, which results in the following kernel trace: refcount_t: underflow; use-after-free. Electron is an open source framework for writing cross-platform desktop applications using JavaScript, HTML and CSS. From versions 30.0.0-alpha.1 to before 30.0.5 and 31.0.0-alpha.1 to before 31.0.0-beta.1, Electron is vulnerable to an ASAR Integrity bypass. This only impacts apps that have the embeddedAsarIntegrityValidation and onlyLoadAppFromAsar fuses enabled. Apps without these fuses enabled are not impacted. This issue is specific to Windows, apps using these fuses on macOS are not impacted. Specifically this issue can only be exploited if the app is launched from a filesystem the attacker has write access too. i.e. the ability to edit files inside the .app bundle on macOS which these fuses are supposed to protect against. This issue has been patched in versions 30.0.5 and 31.0.0-beta.1. There are no workarounds for this issue.

Net::IP::LPM version 1.10 for Perl does not properly consider leading zero characters in IP CIDR address strings, which could allow attackers to bypass access control that is based on IP addresses. Leading zeros are used to indicate octal numbers, which can confuse users who are intentionally using octal notation, as well as users who believe they are using decimal notation.

Ceph is a distributed object, block, and file storage platform. In versions 17.2.7, 18.2.1 through 18.2.4, and 19.0.0 through 19.2.2, an unprivileged user can escalate to root privileges in a ceph-fuse mounted CephFS by chmod 777 a directory owned by root to gain access. The result of this is that a user could read, write and execute to any directory owned by root as long as they chmod 777 it. This impacts confidentiality, integrity, and availability. It is patched in versions 17.2.8, 18.2.5, and 19.2.3.

RISC Zero is a general computing platform based on zk-STARKs and the RISC-V microarchitecture. Due to a missing constraint in the rv32im circuit, any 3-register RISC-V instruction (including remu and divu) in risc0-zkvm 2.0.0, 2.0.1, and 2.0.2 are vulnerable to an attack by a malicious prover. The main idea for the attack is to confuse the RISC-V virtual machine into treating the value of the rs1 register as the same as the rs2 register due to a lack of constraints in the rv32im circuit. Rust applications using the risc0-zkvm crate at versions 2.0.0, 2.0.1, and 2.0.2 should upgrade to version 2.1.0. Smart contract applications using the official RISC Zero Verifier Router do not need to take any action: zkVM version 2.1 is active on all official routers, and version 2.0 has been disabled. Smart contract applications not using the verifier router should update their contracts to send verification calls to the 2.1 version of the verifier.

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: KVM: x86/mmu: Treat NX as a valid SPTE bit for NPT Treat the NX bit as valid when using NPT, as KVM will set the NX bit when the NX huge page mitigation is enabled (mindblowing) and trigger the WARN that fires on reserved SPTE bits being set. In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: fuse: write inode in fuse_release() A race between write(2) and close(2) allows pages to be dirtied after fuse_flush -> write_inode_now(). If these pages are not flushed from fuse_release(), then there might not be a writable open file later. So any remaining dirty pages must be written back before the file is released. This is a partial revert of the blamed commit.

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: hwmon: (gpio-fan) Fix array out of bounds access The driver does not check if the cooling state passed to gpio_fan_set_cur_state() exceeds the maximum cooling state as stored in fan_data->num_speeds. Since the cooling state is later used as an array index in set_fan_speed(), an array out of bounds access can occur. This can be exploited by setting the state of the thermal cooling device to arbitrary values, causing for example a kernel oops when unavailable memory is accessed this way. In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: ptp: ocp: Limit signal/freq counts in summary output functions The debugfs summary output could access uninitialized elements in the freq_in[] and signal_out[] arrays, causing NULL pointer dereferences and triggering a kernel Oops (page_fault_oops). This patch adds u8 fields (nr_freq_in, nr_signal_out) to track the number of initialized elements, with a maximum of 4 per array. The summary output functions are updated to respect these limits, preventing out-of-bounds access and ensuring safe array handling. Widen the label variables because the change confuses GCC about max length of the strings.

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: dmaengine: ti: k3-udma-glue: Drop skip_fdq argument from k3_udma_glue_reset_rx_chn The user of k3_udma_glue_reset_rx_chn() e.g. ti_am65_cpsw_nuss can run on multiple platforms having different DMA architectures. On some platforms there can be one FDQ for all flows in the RX channel while for others there is a separate FDQ for each flow in the RX channel. So far we have been relying on the skip_fdq argument of k3_udma_glue_reset_rx_chn(). Instead of relying on the user to provide this information, infer it based on DMA architecture during k3_udma_glue_request_rx_chn() and save it in an internal flag 'single_fdq'. Use that flag at k3_udma_glue_reset_rx_chn() to deicide if the FDQ needs to be cleared for every flow or just for flow 0.
