Date::Manip versions through 6.99 for Perl return corrupted dates via non-ASCII decimal digits that pass the numeric range tests in check. The parse regexes capture year, month and day with the `\d` shorthand, which on a character string matches the whole Unicode decimal digit property `\p{Nd}` and not just `[0-9]`. Date::Manip::Base::check then validates the captured fields with numeric comparisons alone (`$y<1 || $y>9999`, `$m<1 || $m>12`, `$d<1 || $d>$days`), and _parse_check stores the numified fields (`$y+0`). Perl truncates a string at the first character that is not an ASCII digit, so a field whose leading characters are ASCII digits numifies to an in-range prefix and satisfies every test: a year field of three ASCII digits followed by U+0664 ARABIC-INDIC DIGIT FOUR numifies to 202, giving the year 0202, and one non-ASCII digit in the month or day field shifts those fields the same way. The hour, minute and second fields match explicit ASCII character classes (`0?[0-9]`, `[0-5][0-9]`) and do not shift, though a non-ASCII digit in a fractional hour or minute field truncates the fraction. Any caller that passes an untrusted character string to ParseDate() or Date::Manip::Date->parse() can get back a date that differs from the string it parsed, with no parse error. Where the parsed date gates logic such as an expiry check or a retention window, the shift goes unnoticed.

Pivotick did not validate the URL scheme of node imagePath values derived from graph data before assigning them to SVG image resources. An attacker able to supply crafted graph data could set an image path to a malicious URI. When a victim rendered the affected graph, the browser could resolve the attacker-controlled URI and initiate an unintended request or invoke scheme-specific handling in the victim’s context. Depending on the URI, browser behaviour, and installed protocol handlers, exploitation could disclose limited client or network metadata, facilitate rendering-based tracking, or attempt to access local or internal resources. Exploitation requires a victim to load or render graph data containing the malicious imagePath. The patch normalizes ASCII whitespace and control characters in URI schemes and restricts image paths to relative URLs or the http, https, data, and blob schemes.

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: auxdisplay: line-display: fix OOB read on zero-length message_store() linedisp_display() unconditionally reads msg[count - 1] before checking whether count is zero, so a write of zero bytes to the message sysfs attribute hits msg[-1]: write(fd, "", 0); -> message_store(..., buf, count=0) -> linedisp_display(linedisp, buf, count=0) -> msg[count - 1] == '\n' ; OOB read The kernfs write buffer for that store is a 1-byte allocation (kernfs_fop_write_iter() does kmalloc(len + 1) with len == 0), so msg[-1] is a 1-byte read before the slab object. On a KASAN-enabled kernel this trips an out-of-bounds report and panics; on stock kernels it silently reads adjacent slab data and, if that byte happens to be '\n', the following count-- wraps ssize_t 0 to -1 and is then passed to kmemdup_nul(). linedisp_display() is reached from the message_store() sysfs callback (drivers/auxdisplay/line-display.c message attribute, mode 0644) and from the in-tree initial-message setup with count == -1, so the OOB path is only userspace-triggerable via zero-byte writes; vfs_write() does not short-circuit on count == 0 and kernfs_fop_write_iter() dispatches the store callback regardless. Guard the trailing-newline trim with a count check. The existing if (!count) block then takes the clear-display path unchanged. Affects every auxdisplay driver that registers via linedisp_register() / linedisp_attach(): ht16k33, max6959, img-ascii-lcd, seg-led-gpio.

fast-uri versions 2.3.1 through 3.1.2 and 4.0.0 fail to canonicalize Unicode (IDN) hostnames for HTTP-family URLs. The IDN conversion path calls a helper that does not exist on the global URL constructor, silently leaving the host in its original Unicode form while normalize() and equal() still return values that differ from a WHATWG-compatible URL parser. Applications that use fast-uri to enforce host-based policy (denylists, loopback filtering, redirect validation, outbound proxy routing) before passing the same URL to Node's URL or fetch can be bypassed when the two implementations resolve the same input to different hosts. Patches: upgrade to fast-uri 3.1.3 for the 3.x line or 4.0.1 for the 4.x line. Workarounds: enforce host policy using the same URL parser used for the actual request, or reject non-ASCII hosts before policy checks.

openjsf

guzzlehttp/psr7 is a PSR-7 HTTP message library implementation in PHP. Versions prior to 2.10.2 did not reject ASCII control characters, whitespace, or DEL in first-party URI host components. A vulnerable flow is: First, an application accepts a user-controlled URL. Second, the URL is used to construct a PSR-7 `Uri` or `Request`. Third, the host component contains CRLF or another header-unsafe character. Fourth, the host is copied into the PSR-7 `Host` header when no explicit `Host` header is provided. Finally, the request is serialized or sent by an HTTP client that does not independently reject the malformed host. In that flow, an attacker can cause the serialized request to contain additional attacker-controlled header lines. For example, a host containing `"\r\nX-Injected: yes"` can cause the generated `Host` header to span multiple HTTP header lines. Applications are affected when they use user-controlled URLs for outbound HTTP requests, URL forwarding, proxying, crawling, webhook delivery, or similar request-dispatch flows. In deployments involving HTTP/1.1 connection reuse, proxies, gateways, or load balancers, this malformed request may also contribute to request smuggling or cache poisoning, depending on how downstream components parse the request. The issue is patched in `2.10.2` and later. `1.x` is end-of-life and will not receive a patch. As a workaround, validate and reject all untrusted URI strings before constructing PSR-7 `Uri` or `Request` instances. Reject input containing ASCII control characters, whitespace, or DEL, including CRLF, tab, space, NUL, or DEL characters. Applications that forward requests should also ensure the final HTTP client or serializer rejects invalid URI and header data before writing requests to the network.

guzzlephp

Metrics::Any::Adapter::Statsd versions before 0.04 for Perl does not protect against metric injections. The statsd protocol (and extensions) allow mutiple metrics,separated by newlines, to be sent per packet. The send method does not validate the contents of the metric names or values. If the names have newlines and statsd control characters (colon, pipe) then metric injections are possible. Version 0.04 fixed this by modifying the _make method to block metric names with characters below ASCII 32 (which includes the newline), or colons or pipes.

FrankenPHP is a modern application server for PHP. From version 1.11.2 to before version 1.12.3, the splitPos() function in cgi.go misuses golang.org/x/text/search with search.IgnoreCase when the request path contains a non-ASCII byte. Two distinct flaws in that fallback let an attacker mislead FrankenPHP into treating a non-.php file as a .php script. In any deployment where the attacker can place content into a file served by FrankenPHP (uploads, file storage, etc.), this can be escalated to remote code execution by crafting a URL whose path triggers either flaw. This issue has been patched in version 1.12.3.

Stack-based Buffer Overflow vulnerability in Erlang OTP (erl_interface) allows Stack-based Buffer Overflow. This vulnerability is associated with program file lib/erl_interface/src/misc/ei_printterm.c and program routine ei_s_print_term. The C function ei_s_print_term uses an internal 2000-character stack buffer to format terms. When called with an encoded Erlang term containing a very large integer (encoded representation exceeding 2000 characters), the buffer overflows. The overflow bytes are restricted to the ASCII values of 0-9 and A-F, which limits exploitation to Denial of Service. The companion function ei_print_term, which prints directly to a FILE instead of a memory buffer, does not contain this bug. This issue affects OTP from OTP 17.0 before OTP 29.0.2, OTP 28.5.0.2 and OTP 27.3.4.13, corresponding to erl_interface from 3.7.16 before 5.8.1, 5.7.0.1 and 5.5.2.1.

erlang

FastGPT is an AI Agent building platform. Prior to 4.15.0-beta1, the JavaScript sandbox worker at projects/code-sandbox/src/pool/worker.ts:356 blocks dynamic import() with the regex /\bimport\s*\(/.test(code). JavaScript syntax accepts a block comment between import and (; the regex matches only ASCII whitespace, and the bytes /, *, *, / are not in the \s character class. The payload import/**/("child_process") parses as a syntactically valid dynamic import that the regex does not detect. Because import() is not wrapped by the safeRequire Proxy (which only proxies require), the attacker loads child_process and calls execSync - arbitrary command execution as uid=100(sandbox) inside the sandbox container. This vulnerability is fixed in 4.15.0-beta1.

The ToASCII and ToUnicode functions incorrectly accept Punycode-encoded labels that decode to an ASCII-only label. For example, ToUnicode("xn--example-.com") incorrectly returns the name "example.com" rather than an error. This behavior can lead to privilege escalation in programs using the idna package. For example, a program which performs privilege checks on the ASCII hostname may reject "example.com" but permit "xn--example-.com". If that program subsequently converts the ASCII hostname to Unicode, it will inadvertently permits access to the Unicode name "example.com".

golang

In `src/havegecmd.c`, the `socket_handler` function performs a credential check on the abstract UNIX socket (`\0/sys/entropy/haveged`). However, while it detects if the connecting user is not root (`cred.uid != 0`) and prepares a negative acknowledgement (`ASCII_NAK`), it **fails to stop execution**. The code proceeds to the `switch` statement, allowing any local unprivileged user to execute privileged commands such as `MAGIC_CHROOT`.

rust-openssl provides OpenSSL bindings for the Rust programming language. From 0.9.7 to before 0.10.79, X509Ref::ocsp_responders returns OCSP responder URLs from a certificate's AIA extension as OpensslString, whose Deref<Target = str> wraps the raw bytes with str::from_utf8_unchecked. OpenSSL does not enforce that the underlying IA5String is ASCII, so a certificate with non-UTF-8 bytes in its OCSP accessLocation causes safe Rust code to construct a &str that violates the UTF-8 invariant — resulting in undefined behavior. This vulnerability is fixed in 0.10.79.

protobufjs compiles protobuf definitions into JavaScript (JS) functions. Prior to 7.5.6 and 8.0.2, protobufjs includes a minimal UTF-8 decoder that accepted overlong UTF-8 byte sequences and decoded them to their canonical characters instead of replacing them. An attacker who can provide protobuf binary data decoded through the affected UTF-8 path may be able to bypass application-level checks that inspect raw bytes before protobuf string decoding. For example, bytes that do not contain certain ASCII characters could decode to strings containing those characters. This vulnerability is fixed in 7.5.6 and 8.0.2.

Granian is a Rust HTTP server for Python applications. From 1.2.0 to 2.7.4, Granian aborts a worker process when an unauthenticated client sends a WebSocket upgrade request whose Sec-WebSocket-Protocol header contains non-ASCII bytes. The crash happens in Granian's WebSocket scope construction path, before the ASGI application is invoked. This vulnerability is fixed in 2.7.4.

libcaca is a colour ASCII art library. In 0.99.beta20 and earlier, an integer overflow vulnerability in libcaca's canvas import functionality allows an attacker to cause a controlled heap out-of-bounds write (heap overflow) by supplying a crafted file in the "caca" format. Depending on the build configuration and memory allocator, this may lead to memory corruption or remote code execution. This is the same vulnerability as CVE-2021-3410 but the fix at that time was not fully correct. Commit fb77acff9ba6bb01d53940da34fb10f20b156a23 fixes this vulnerability.

Local file inclusion (LFI) and server-side request forgery (SSRF) vulnerabilities in pgAdmin 4 LLM API configuration endpoints. User-supplied api_key_file and api_url preferences were passed to the LLM provider clients without validation. An authenticated user could read arbitrary server-side files by pointing api_key_file at any path readable by the pgAdmin process, or coerce pgAdmin into making requests to internal targets (e.g. cloud metadata services such as 169.254.169.254) by setting api_url, exploiting the chat path and model-list endpoints. Fix restricts api_key_file to the user's private storage (server mode) or home directory (desktop mode), enforces a printable-ASCII key shape and a 1024-byte read cap, and gates api_url against a configurable allow-list (config.ALLOWED_LLM_API_URLS) at every entry point. This issue affects pgAdmin 4: before 9.15.

pgadmin

Net::CIDR::Lite versions before 0.24 for Perl does not properly validate IP address and CIDR mask inputs, which may allow IP ACL bypass. Inputs containing a trailing newline or non-ASCII digit characters pass the validators but are then re-encoded by the parser to a different address than the input string spelled. find() and bin_find() can match or miss addresses as a result. If a trusted template author were to write a <script> tag containing an empty 'type' attribute or a 'type' attribute with an ASCII whitespace, the execution of the template would incorrectly escape any data passed into the <script> block.

golang

CVE-2026-27142 fixed a vulnerability in which URLs were not correctly escaped inside of a <meta> tag's <content> attribute. If the URL content were to insert ASCII whitespaces around the '=' rune inside of the <content> attribute, the escaper would fail to similarly escape it, leading to XSS.

Two heap-based out-of-bounds read vulnerabilities in the STL ASCII file parser in Open CASCADE Technology (OCCT) V8_0_0_rc5 exist in RWStl_Reader::ReadAscii because buffers returned by Standard_ReadLineBuffer::ReadLine() are not properly length-validated before strncasecmp or direct byte access. User-assisted attackers can trigger these issues by persuading a victim to open a crafted STL file with extremely short lines, resulting in a denial of service or possible information disclosure.
